They came to earthPestilence, War, Famine, Deathfour horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all. When Pestilence comes for Sara Burns town, one thing is certain: everyone she knows and loves is marked for death. Unless, of course, the angelic-looking horseman is stopped, which is exactly what Sara has in mind when she shoots the unholy beast off his steed.Too bad no one told her Pestilence cant be killed. Now the horseman, very much alive and very pissed off, has taken her prisoner, and hes eager to make her suffer. Only, the longer shes with him, the more uncertain she is about his true feelings towards her and hers towards him. And now, well, Sara might still be able to save the world, but in order to do so, she'll have to sacrifice her heart in the process....

Pestilence (The Four Horsemen #1) Reviews
4.5 -omg Jewelsy actually loved this and is baffled by that, so is actually taking the time to write a longer review than normal- Stars
Disclaimer: most people know that paranormal or fantasy or dystopian stories don’t really pump my nads at all. Too much world building, other-world jargon and overly informational dialogue tends to put me into a coma before I can even get to the romance and swoons.
BUT even I was surprised by how awesome and easy to understand/follow this book was. For a pnr/dysto ...more
Worldbuilding - 2 STARS
Pestilence is a romance set in dystopian world but in its core this is not a dystopian novel. This should serve as a warning for all of you hardcore dystopian/fantasy/paranormal lovers who (like me) expect actual worldbuilding when presented with new world/creatures - there is almost none worldbuilding in this book.
Plot line - 1 STAR
Worldbuilding aside, this novel also lacks plot. Literally, there wasn't happening anything remarkable that would push story forward. There wa ...more
Putting this on hold because I AM NOT FEELING IT. Nadhira is so fucked up with me hahahaha, please tell me I am not the only one that mood reads with according to the weather. She is the best though. <3
Apparently, buddy reads find me everywhere I go. I am going crazy just a bit. But excited to be finally reading something with Nadhira. I, as usual, know pretty much nothing about the story.
I am eternally disappointed that I didn't finish this book sooner. I usually devour books of this length in a couple of days, a week at most, but I stalled so hard on this one and I regret it so much.
Pestilence is the story of one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse inflicting pain and disease upon the world. He has come because the world has become wicked enough to be considered irredeemable and therefore, the human race must suffer. Word of his arrival spreads as does the plague he brings. ...more
"Then I saw when the Lamb broke one of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures saying as with a voice of thunder, “Come.” I looked, and behold, a white horse, and he who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer".
IM SO HAPPY I FOUND OUT ABOUT THIS BOOK!
This is the first book that I have read about the Four Horsemen. And damn if it wasn't good.
This book is a great combination of a very realistic and sarcastic female charac ...more
It's not every day you read a romance book where the "hero" has the name Pestilence and he's a purposeful mass murderer, and the heroine is a young woman, Sara, who literally tries to murder the hero the first time she meets him. This is not a meet-cute story! I'm kinda torn on this book.
Things I liked:
-Discusses religion in a very non-religious way
-The situation Sara finds herself in was laid out pretty realistically overall, including her reactions
- Pestilence isn't made out to be just some tr ...more
HOLY EFFING SHIT!
It's definitely about time that I wrote this amazing review! I finally got to my BR comments because life and work have been draining me. Today, I probably had the worst day at work ever.. then had to sit in traffic for like ever, then I had to watch my sister drive off with my car and she probably has like the worst driving record in my family. I'm shook. I'm hurt. I needed a lot of wine to cope with today. I need some books to calm me down.. but then I realized I'm still way f ...more
This book was recommended by a friend who loved it, several other friends have read it and all loved it. It has a nice cover and a great blurb, okay so the title doesn’t scream romance but once you’ve read the blurb it’s good.
My problem was much to my surprise I found I liked this but I didn’t love it like I’d expected.
I have to say with all the great reviews it’s almost certainly me, I am a picky reader and there’s a lot here to like.
I understood where both characters were coming from, thei ...more
