The Secret Heir (Alinthia #2) Reviews
oh, wow! I am hooked; can't wait to see how this all plays out! I always love Ms Davis's work and The Secret Heir is no exception! I find it incredibly engaging and, as usual with her stories, extremely well written. The plot is exciting and action-packed; the protagonists are likable and really easy to root for! Alinthia is constantly facing new challenges as twists and turns are thrown into her path; she just keeps rising to the occasion and finding ways to do what she needs to do. I find it i ...more
The latest book in the Alinthia series blew me away! I had to take a few days to process how I feel. The Author deftly weaves action, and mystery into this growing romance. Alinthia and her men experienced significant growth and movement in their relationship, but for every step forward, there were two steps back to their progress. The characters never really get a chance to rest in this book, as there are unknown entities working behind the scenes to undermine them at every turn. They still get ...more
Tori knows who she is (Alinthia), knows her history (alien princess), and knows what she is supposed to accomplish (save the world). The problem is she has no idea what to do! She can't control her powers, she's worried about her visions and dreams, she has doubts, she has guilt, she has regrets. She's keeping secrets. Her bonds with Coop, Maddox, and Beck are deepening but Dane is keeping his distance. He doesn't trust Tori and has his secrets too. This is threatening the bond. And while the en ...more
Wonderful writing. Interesting storyline. I love Siobhan Davis' take on alien species, and I can't wait to read more! I'm enjoying the reverse harem aspect, and am really looking forward to seeing that storyline progress. I liked getting POV's from the 4 boys, the story is mainly told in Tori's POV, but it's great to get those chapters from the boys. There's some action in this book, and I absolutely love battles, so that was awesome! I'd love more of that!
Tori isn't my favorite of Siobhan's her ...more
It is hard to write a review of this without having a spoiler, so I am only going to write about what I liked and didn't like about this book.
What I liked:
While Siobhan Davis classifies this book as "reverse harem" I don't think of it that way. I find reverse harem books frustrating. The guys are always clueless and the girl is every guy's fantasy. I always say "girl...just make up your mind! and "guys...no girl is perfect!". This book is different. Tori and the guys have a symbiotic relations ...more
I love how the writing of Ms. Davis can instantly transport me to whatever world she has created and help me lose myself in it. I can forget my "real world" problems and just relax into a tale that's woven so creatively that I can quite honestly forget where I am.
I've never really been a big fan of Sci-Fi romance and alien type stories, but ever since the first book I've read by Siobhan Davis, I've been converted. She writes this world so well that it seems possible and even plausible. I love he ...more
The Secret Heir was a phenomenal continuation to the Alinthia Series. Once you think the plot is going one way, Siobhan throws in one of her trademark curveballs and everything you thought you knew about the characters has changed. I had such an amazing time reading this, and I promise you will too.
Again, I loved how each of the guys had their time with Tori, from innocent and sweet to hot and steamy. I did not find any to be favored over the others which resulted in me adoring each one just as ...more
This is what I love about Siobhan Davis! She is really good at writing romance, but I'm not really a romance reader. The best thing is that there's always a really solid, entertaining story behind it all. I was blown away by the storyline introduced in the second half of this book. So good! Twisty! Turny! And it all goes somewhere. No wasted mental energy on stuff that never comes back up.
I'm a huge Dane fan -I blame Buffy the Vampire Slayer for the fascination with brooding boys - and I was so ...more
