Deadly Recall (Jessie Cole #2) Reviews
After I read the first book, I drew some parallels to the Lizzy Gardner series, hoping that more time spent with these characters would make them shine on their own. And they did.
As with the first book, there are several storylines going on at once. The main one is about a man who lost his daughter to a medical condition where the insurance company wouldn't pay for experimental drugs. He decides to take revenge on the CEO of the company. The killer was a horrible man, yet I felt some sy ...more
As good as Her Last Day was this was even better. This one paid close attention to 3 different cases; a baby that was kidnapped 7 years before, the killer who was killing to get the attention of a large insurance company and at Ben’s request Jessie’s trying to find out about the years BEFORE he was in an accident that left him with partial amnesia. AND there’s a little romance going on with Jessie and Colin, too.
I think my favorite character in this book was Zee. She was in the last book too but ...more
This series starts with Her Last Day. The books do not have to be read in order, unless you are like me and need to start at the beginning, they are stand alone books. This is the second in the Jessie Cole series.
Jessie is a PI, she makes her living finding people. Her career decision is born of personal trials. She is the Aunt/Mother to her niece Olivia due to the disappearance of her sister Sophie. She surrounds herself with good hearted flawed individuals. There is Ben the crime reporter, hi ...more
Another great book by T.R. Ragan! I really enjoyed this book a lot. Great Narration by Kate Rudd (audible review)
I like Jessie a lot. There were 3 different stories going on during this book so there was no time for filler nonsense and it kept you entertained all the way through. There is lots of dialogue throughout the entire book. Some great secondary characters too. One of my favorites is Zee and all 3 of her personalities! LOL they are great.
I am hoping Ben's book is next, I am looking forw ...more
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Deadly Recall by T.R. Ragan that I read and reviewed.
The second book in the Jessie Cole series was totally awesome. I loved how Jessie managed to solve two cases and also helped her friend Ben delve deeper into his past.
This book picked right up where the first one left off with Ben and Jessie teaming up to solve a case and Ben having flashbacks that are upsetting him that involve images what make him believe that he might be a murderer. I am not going to get ...more
This is BOOK #2 of Jessie Cole series. Here we continue Jessie’s journey as a PI. We see her dealing with the truths she discover in HER LAST DAY (book1). I wont tell because that’s for me to know and for you TO FIND OUT. Trust me reeeally good plot on book 1. So back to DEADLY RECALL. This one wasn’t a perfect score for me just because I felt the story was less suspenseful or nerve racking than book 1. This book it’s get to be more intense in the emotional topics and less in the ...more
Book two of the Jessie Cole series. These are fundamentally dark thrillers. As with book one, there’s a lot of moving parts taking place simultaneously. Multiple story lines that seemingly have nothing to do with each other until they all converge in the end.
Jessie is a private detective who has no problem taking on the hardest or most disturbing of cases. Assisting her is Zee. (Who she met in book one.) Zee makes a great addition to this book...and hopefully will continue for the entire series ...more
Three, three, three cases solved in one book!!! And again, TR Ragan hits a home run with this follow-up to Jessie Cole #1 - although it took me awhile to focus, not because of content but because I was a little lazy. The most difficult part about writing a review is that you want to say a lot but there's always the element of "spoiling" the end. I felt Ben's anguish and despair and am wondering just what Ms. Ragan has in store for him in her third book. It will be tough waiting till October for ...more
