Takeoff (Seth Walker #1) Reviews
Really good! Fast paced and addictive. Great main character, and supporting cast. Not at all what I was expecting, way more intense. Hope he's working on the next book!
The book was easy to read. There was plenty of action and the main characters were fairly interesting. However, there were several times when the plot just made no sense. For example, the bad guys could afford a huge rural retreat with a miles of stone wall around it, multiple helicopters that get destroyed and yet they were worried about the income from 1 pediatrician over prescribing meds. The book was good enough to read the next in the series to see if the author can fix the plot issues whil ...more
Former Air Marshall Seth Walker has been given what should be an easy job: Escort a teen pop star to her next destination only to be ambushed and both forced to go on the run.
Who would want to hurt this sullen teen? Soon Seth starts questioning the moral standards of the kinds of people who refer to a young star as a brand instead of a person....and what's going on with her attitude, anyway?
Well-written and fast-paced.
Mature subject matter.

A book you can't put down
What a great book! This was one from the book of the month from Amazon Prime and I'm not disappointed. From the first page I was hooked. Mr. Reid had a way to keep me wanting to keep reading. I started it one evening and did not want to put it down for bed. Finally there's a book that the ending did not feel forced and thrown together. My only negative thing is, what happened to Sarah? I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
Absolute Non-stop Action
This is a Prime First for June 2018.
Starts off with a bang. Several. More than several. I am already intrigued.
So far (I write reviews as I read) there has literally been nonstop action. Lots of good information about speakers and how the ear works.
The action never stopped. If possible, it got more intense, especially with a young girl involved.
I wish I had the words to express how this book affected me. I was on a cozy witches kick for a bit and this book was just the t ...more
This book qualifies for "the plot thickens" award--for the plot does thicken every few pages. 16-year-old "idol" singer gets enmeshed in grown-ups' greedy drama and the Air Marshal flies to the rescue. Scary look at South American drug cartels, the Mayan language, and how kids get caught up in drug cycles. Wish Max Magic had a little more of a memorable personality, but Seth Walker has enough to keep the reader's interest high.
I found this book while browsing, looking for something new. I had no idea it would be both new and wonderful! The author's style is superb, keeping the reader wrapped up in the adventure and excitement until the very end. If course, there are secrets about Seth Walker that aren't completely explained in this story, so now I have to go look for more by Joseph Reid. Don't miss this one!
Interesti ng first novel in a series.
A good first novel. The characters were well developed. The story was very good with twists and turns in the plot. I subtracted a star as he would at times just write and write and write. Sometimea leas is more. In this novel there were definite times when less would have made a more interesring book.
