Best Beach Ever (Ten Beach Road #6) Reviews
Let me begin by saying that I am a lover of all things Wendy Wax. She is no doubt one of my favorite authors and I feel like I won the lottery when I got to read an advanced copy of the next Ten Beach Road series. This book starts the ladies down a new path as their reality show “Do Over” has come to and end and each must figure out what they are going to do now. The thing I like most about this series is how likable these ladies are and how their friendship makes them stronger. The love and sup ...more
Best Beach Ever by Wendy Wax is the sixth novel in Ten Beach Road series. January 2 has rolled around, and the ladies have moved out of Bella Flora, so tenant can move in. They have into their cottages at the Sunshine Hotel. Madeline Singer is getting ready to go on tour with her rocker boyfriend, Will. Kyra and her son, Dustin will be departing in two weeks for Orlando where Dustin will make his acting debut in his father’s, Daniel Deranian new film. Kyra is not looking forward to spending six ...more
As always, love this series and the women of #TenBeachRoad! Review to follow closer to pub date. #CoverCrush!
My first introduction to this series, I loved Wendy Wax’s ability to create nuanced characters with relationships that felt plausible and possible, and she’s managed to carry that into this story, making the women compelling, intriguing and most of all, people you want to know. As the sixth in the series, I did expect that some of the background events may play into finding the friendships and progression difficult, but Wax gives just enough background to the characters, along with their own ful ...more
This was my first introduction to these characters and while the book does stand alone, there is a lot of backstories that would probably be beneficial to read. Best Beach Ever has a lot of characters in it and sometimes it is hard to keep track of whose story is whose as it jumps around a lot. There wasn't anything particularly engaging in this story but I suspect it's because this is where I started. If you already know these characters, you'll probably enjoy the read. It isn't bad, it just is ...more
Thank you to NetGalley.com for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
#6 in the series (are we counting the novella?) and I still look forward to these books. I probably relate most to Maddie but Avery is my favorite. I think its because every time I read these books I get an insane craving for the Laura Scudder’s puffy cheese things of my childhood in the royal blue bag (and no, Puffy Cheetohs will not do). It was wonderful to see Bitsy gr ...more
I could have sworn that I read part of the "Ten Beach Road" series before this book. However, when I checked it out, I had not. Apparently, these characters are so well written that I felt comfortable with them right away which just gave me the impression I had spent time with them before.
There is lots going on in this book which focuses on a group of five friends who have lots of problems that they help each other with and through. There are a lot of obstacles along the way which include a Holl ...more
I would recommend reading the other books in the series before reading this one. I read it without having read the rest of them and while it was still a really enjoyable read I think it would have been easier for me to get into if I knew more of the background info. It was still a fun read though. I loved the relationships the woman had formed and how supportive they were of each other. There is a wide variety of characters, each with their own quirks and problems. I found that I liked each of ...more
