The Longest Silence (Shades of Death #4) Reviews
Joanna Guthrie has kept silent for 18 years. She and 2 other young women were kidnapped, tortured and made to do unspeakable things then released after 2 weeks. Now it appears the same thing is happening to other young women. Joanna goes to ex FBI agent for Tony LeDoux to tell him her story. Tony’s doesn’t believe her at first. Tony’s niece has been kidnapped and as he hears more fromJoanna about what happened to her he begins to believe her. They have to find Tony’s niece before it’s too late.
For me this book had a different pace than the other books in The Shades of Death series. Also while Nick & Bobbi made a brief appearance, this book featured Tony LeDoux.
This Special Agent paid a very high price for his obsession with a serial killer, and because of it he lost so very much.
As usual, great plot with twists I never saw coming. I wasn't to sure about Jo but by the end I was all in and cheering for her as well as Tony.

Joanna, along with two other women, spent fourteen days in hell, literally, and the serial killer holding them captive was the devil. Joanna knew without a doubt that's what he was, and eighteen years after escaping, she's still trying to forget that tragic part of her life. Plus, she knows talking about it could very well return her to that hell. He's watching, and waiting, for her to slip. There's only one reason she'll break her silence, and as more women begin disappearing as she did, she kn ...more

I received a free ARC through Goodreads.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book of this series immensely, so I was super excited to pick up this book in the series (not necessary to read the previous books to understand what is going on). While this book isn't as intense and super creepy like the first book I read, it is still very intense and gripping. Do not underestimate the author in how she brings the villains to life and how you really feel for the main characters who always gets the raw en ...more
I am privileged to be a part of Debra Webb’s “Street Team” so as such, I received an ARC of THE LONGEST SILENCE, her fourth book in the Shades of Death series. This book focuses on Tony LeDoux, the former FBI agent who is washed up because of his alcoholism. However, he is called back into action when his niece is kidnapped from her college campus in Milledgeville, Georgia and his sister Angie calls him for his help. This is a non-stop thriller about some really ruthless characters who have take ...more
I luckily received the ARC of this book. As with all of Debra's books it was so very hard to put down. This is the next book in the Shades of Death series. This book focuses around Tony LeDoux. You will remember him for using Bobbie to catch her husbands and sons killer. But they bonded by what happened to of them. Tony gets a call his niece is missing and heads out to meet his sister and husband to find out what is going on. He has been consuming lots of alcohol since he quit the bureau..but he ...more
