All the Breaking Waves Reviews
I see I'm in the minority here with my three stars, but that's okay. I did enjoy it, but I had some issues with it. Most of them would be spoilers, however. I'll just say I didn't find the characters quite as likeable as I should have. That would have been the day I would have dared to tell my grandmother she couldn't drink in her own house! I didn't really find Molly as charming as others. Also, if the age of the child hadn't been mentioned, I would have guessed she was five at some points and ...more

Blending elements of magic and mystery, ALL THE BREAKING WAVES, is a compelling portrayal of one mother’s journey as she grapples with her small daughter’s horrific visions that force her to confront a haunting secret from her past. Examining issues of love, loss and the often-fragile ground of relationships and forgiveness, this tenderly told story will have you turning the pages long past midnight.
Um livro com uma história muito bonita e sobre o mar que adoro!
A sweet page-turner.
Update @ 10%
Okay, I’ve given it a full hour of audio time, or 10% of the total book, which is more than double my minimum 20 minutes that I usually give before DNF’ing a book. It’s just not well-written. The narrative gives details from a first person point of view that normally belong to a 3rd person POV, even sometimes making observations that would be belong to 3rd person omniscient. It’s just not plausible that someone is going to be so continuously self-aware of their own involuntary body l ...more
