The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if youre anyone but me. The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, Im very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy Im attracted to.At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since Id never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong. He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over campus.I might have also propositioned him, run away from him, attacked him with a cooking utensilanduh, maybe I shouldnt tell you all of it. Its pretty normal stuff, things youd expectfrom me. Eventually, the time came when I couldnt hide anymorenot that hed have let me even if I tried. Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking away. It doesnt help that Im not the most subtle person in the world either. He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because of my quirks. I cant even tell him that I think my heart beats differently whenever hes around. He thinks were going to be best friends. I think I have a big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I dont care that Im not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him.The thing is, thats exactly what Im doingwhat were doing, I think.Falling.Hard....

The Hardest Fall Reviews
At 74% in, I'm done. The author manipulation is just too much and I can't stand it any longer. I like the characters. They're sweet and watching them come together was engaging. But Ella Maise seems addicted to manipulating things for drama and that's a fast turn-off for me.
I pushed through my concerns from the 20%-40% range. That's when she was manipulating Zoe's perspective to imply something not true. There were two possibilities and each would have had profoundly different manifestation in h ...more

KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS
‘THE HARDEST FALL’: Is a standalone full length, sports romance novel by new to me Author Ella Maise. ‘Spoken in Dual Perspectives’
In this we meet, shy, klutzy, kooky, quirky over talkative College Freshman Zoe Clarke.
And Dylan Reed the IT boy around campus. A football player who had a big chance of going pro. He’s gorgeous, laid back and finds himself drawn towards Zoe like no other female before.
The very first initi ...more

5 "Buddies" Stars!!!!!
I'm just going to take a minute and bask in all the gloriousness this book left me with. The Hardest Fall is one of those books that puts a smile on your face and keeps it there till the very end. I was giddy throughout the whole book. And the laughs, oh the laughs. These characters had me laughing so hard. I found myself not wanting this book to end. And when it did, I just wanted to read it all over agin. So good, sooo ...more
The third time is the charm -- when Zoe and Dylan finally "officially" meet. Two other encounters were hilarious and quite engaging! Of course, he's THE GUY on campus -- football star looking at an NFL career -- and, well, Zoe is a whole lotta of Chatty Kathy, nerdy and smart, shy and lovable! Their coupling was delightful.
But as we all know, nothing in romanceland goes without some rocky roads and potholes filled with misunderstandings. From a new-to-me-author who put all the best feels and sw ...more
THE HARDEST FALL by Ella Maise is the story of Zoe and Dylan.
This was such a fun read! I loved the funny story how they met. Zoe was a beautiful shy girl where Dylan was the all-around sports guy heading to the NFL.
This was such a easy sweet read! Loved it!
I discovered Ella Maise this month and devoured To Love Jason Thorn and To Hate Adam Conner in just two days. I was obsessed with her writing style and gave both books a 5 star.
Fortunately for me, I didnt have to wait the almost two years that everyone else did for a new release from this author. Phewww! I was kicking myself for taking this long to discover her but now im just grateful.
After devouring those two books I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of The Hardest Fall and I literally freake ...more
Dylan and Zoe are a testament to there being a right time for everything. Though their attraction has always been there, it wasn’t the right time until it was.
This cute story was the perfect return for Ella Maise after an absence from the writing scene. It’s a slow burn, which I don’t always enjoy, but this additional time was definitely worth the build up of the relationship.
Individually, I really liked how Dylan was structured. He had a good balance between sweet and sexy with maturity. Zoe ...more

‘He was the dream, the one you always wanted to end up with, the other half of your soul, if you believed in that kind of thing. I was willing to bet Dylan Reed would check every single box every single woman had on the their must-have list….’
They say all good things come to those that wait. Hmm they also say…be careful what you wish for. Well, we waited, we wished and we hoped The Hardest Fall would be everything we had excitedly anticipated, and we’re thrilled to say it was ...more
