Deadmen Walking (Deadman's Cross #1) Reviews
This was a pretty good historical fictionread about pirates that are all damned souls that are supernatural creatures led by a Pirate Captain who is actually a viking and his figurehead first mate is a dryad. When a young woman who is a cherub angel holding tons of power that the darkness wants, its up to the Pirates to save her. It's a great first book in the series and I am looking forward to book II . If you like these types of stories and Sherrilyn Kenyon's books, definitely check this book ...more
How can a book be so good the second time around? I still remember my excitement and anticipation last year at this new series and how much I loved this book. I’m a big fan of pirates and a crew of Deadmen fighting monsters to protect the world in an act of redemption? Color me fascinated.
The characters were so colorful and unique, each one with their own set of issues and dash of awesomeness. Devyl “Duel” Bane, the Captain, was in one word, captivating. I absolutely loved him from the moment hi ...more

My English review
I did read a few Sherrilyn Kenyon novels in her Dark Hunters series that I enjoyed. After a certain number of books I confess that I stopped because I needed a renewal that I was lacking. I however had a good time with the series and when the announcement of a new one was made, I confess that I was intrigued. How not to be especially with the mention of pirates?
I did not expect it, but this series is a new spin off from the Dark Hunters series. We have s ...more
Tagged as "Wish-sereis-was-shorter" because THIS one is part of The Dark-Hunterverse. And will be published by one of my favorites publisher of speculative fiction of all time (Tor books) maybe next year.
The new Deadman’s Cross trilogy will be a historical fantasy series filled with pirates, demons, and high-paced adventure on the stormy seas, and featuring cross-over character Thorn from the Dark-Hunter saga (most recently seen in Son of No One).
But I have the fear that Kenyon won't be able ...more

Oh, the amazingly brilliant mind of Sherrilyn Kenyon. I can’t believe she made me fall in love with a pirate, which besides Captain Jack, AKA Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean, I typically avoid like a plague. Especially in romance books, just not my cuppa. But Deadmen Walking is so much more than just a pirate romance. This novel is packed with action, adventure, fantasy world full of mythological characters, and a happy ever after that is well deserved.
Captain Devyl Bane and his crew ...more

Deadmen Walking is the first book in the Deadmen's Cross triology, a historical spin off from Dark-Hunter and the hell-hounds universe and Oh my this was such a great read and a fantastic start to the trilogy!
Captain Devyl Bane used to be an evil warlord and is currently the dead Captain of the ship, sailing of to save the gates that will unleash hell on earth if the gates open. The gates are keeping the evil and ancient gods bend on destruction and chaos. He and his crew mad ...more

Another book that has been sitting on my currently reading shelf for sometime now, I mean I was really excited to start this, I mean common pirates !! whats not to like ?!?!
And in all actuality it lived up to the pirate-y stuff really well, and one of my favorite things about this book, is the lack of sexism, you know what I mean when it comes to pirate ships and women, but in this it was totally chilled out, there were women pirates (legit women pirates, who were ...more
