First thought when finished: Not my favorite in the series but still a good read!
What I Thought of the Case: The Unholy was set in Hollywood and managed to bring in the old mixed with the new. This story had a very Noir type of feel that kept me reading from beginning to the end. As with each case before the murderer is very real but there are small paranormal e ...more
It has been a little while since I picked up one of the Krewe of Hunters novels as I went back and read the rest of the Harrison Investigations series, also by Heather Graham, before going back to this one. I enjoy reading these books when I'm looking for something light that doesn't take all of my concentration to read.
The story started off on quite an interesting note and from there the mystery got going a little. The investigation from the beginning was quite interesting and I enjoyed followi ...more
Ok, this book was fun, all of Heather Graham's books are a good read. However, I had a hard time with this one because I am a diver and this had a lot of diving in it. I am not sure what kind of research she does before her book but all of the diving stuff was wrong and it drove me crazy! During the first dive with Kat and Will she gives him the thumbs up to let him know that she is ok - this is not ok if you are a diver - that means to go up I have a problem. There are a lot of other diving mis ...more
I have really liked the "Krewe of Hunters" series so far, but The Unholy (Krewe of Hunters #6) was just an OK read for me. I did enjoy the murder mystery with the "locked room" mystery plot. Those are always fun to try to figure out. I really thought I had it all figured out, but I was way off base! I love when that happens!
I liked Madison's character and the idea that she can see and talk to dead people. I just couldn't get over the fact that Madison was visited by and talked to the ghost of Hu ...more
Case: A murder of a young starlet which is somehow connected to the movie they are making at the studio (a remake of an obscure noir film with murderous Egyptian priest, a tough PI and, of course, a femme fatale).
Sean Cameron was sent to investigate a locked room murder mystery at one of the best studios/cinemas in Hollywood. Movie mogul Eddie Archer's young son was accused of murdering a young starlet. He claims a robed priest killed her. Sean intended to help anyway because h ...more
I really enjoyed this story; I loved that it took place in Hollywood at a movie special effects studio. The story was fun and I liked the characters.
It may have been cheesy and campy but my favorite 'character' was Humphrey Bogart 'Bogie'. He haunts Madison's home and assists with the investigation.
All in all a good story, I didn't find it especially scary or creepy, but I was trying to guess the whodunit right up until the end.

Brillant, absolutely brillant! This is by far my favorite book of this series. The mystery, characters, paranormal aspect and romance was all great.
I love, love, love this book's main ghost! He's a legend. Famous during throughout his life and still a star after death. He's got a very dry sense of humor and is so funny!
The romance is between Sean and Madison. Sean, is a member of the FBI's team, the Krewe of Hunters, is Kelsey's cousin and specializes in film (special eff ...more
